IO NON SCRIVO POESIE, LE IMMAGINO SOLTANTO

Io non scrivo poesie
le immagino soltanto
le vedo fluttuare
senza parole
lungo i canali secchi
dei ricordi morti
Le guardo cambiare forma
come nel cielo disegni di storni
giocando a rincorrere il senso
di quel profilo e quell’altro
e indovinare l’intenzione
che le sposta e le ritrae.
Le sento talvolta
assalirmi all’improvviso
come torrenti in piena
emozioni infantili
che mi sciacquano il presente.

I don’t write poetry
I just imagine them
I see them floating
without words
along the dry canals
of dead memories
I watch them change shape
like drawings of starlings in the sky
playing chase the meaning
of that profile and that other
and guess the intention
that moves them and retracts them.
I hear them sometimes
suddenly attack me
like raging torrents
childhood emotions
that rinse the present from me.
